    Ruby M Bates

    November 29, 1931 - March 26, 2020

Ruby Mae Bates passed away peacefully with family on March 26th, 2020. Ruby was born on November 29, 1931 to Oren Scott Haynes and Ruth Mable Black, in Clifton, KS – she was the only girl with her three brothers Eugene, Neal, and Charles Haynes. Throughout her working life she held positions as a secretary, elderly care professional, and obtained a Real Estate license in the state of Kansas. She moved to Fort Collins, CO in the summer of 2001 to be closer to family after the passing of her husband David Bates. Ruby is survived by her two children, Steve Crawford and Lori Emery, and Son-in-law Rick Emery of Fort Collins. Ruby has 1 granddaughter Auburn Emery, and two Step-grandchildren, Danielle and Kyle Emery, as well as a step-great granddaughter Madison Emery. During her time in Fort Collins, Ruby was involved with Timberline Church as a greeter, prime-timers member, and a prayer group leader for “Ruby’s Bunch.” She was a devout Christian and loved all the friend she made over the years through Timberline Church. In her spare time, Ruby enjoyed sewing, cooking, and LOVED to play cards. She had a bi-weekly game of hand and foot with a wonderful group of friends, as well as many other ongoing games in her retirement community. While playing cards, Ruby was fortunate to meet Glenn Parker. They spent the last few months of Ruby’s life together, playing cards, and enjoying each other’s companionship. Ruby truly loved him. Ruby was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and partner. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
