The Story of Our Family...
Gary, Kristin, Scout and Stella Bohlender
At Bohlender Funeral Chapel, we pride ourselves in listening to our families and following their lead when it comes to honoring a loved one, or creating a preneed plan to suit emotional and/or financial needs. In this section, we invite you to learn more about our heritage and the staff responsible for forming our reputation for compassion, trust, and sincerity in Fort Collins and Northern Colorado.
Since 1960, the Bohlenders have provided memorial services for families in Northern Colorado. We are a family-owned and operated funeral home located in historic Old Town, Fort Collins.
After Milo Bohlender received his degree from the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science, Milo and his wife Gwen relocated to Fort Collins from LaSalle, CO so Milo could work at what was then Warren Funeral Chapel. In 1968, Milo and Gwen purchased interest in the mortuary from Harold Warren.
Today, Milo’s son Gary owns and operates the funeral home, supported by his wife Kristin, daughter Scout, and key staff member Josh Wasinger, a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Gary and Kristin’s younger daughter, Stella, a recent Colorado Mesa University graduate helps out whenever and wherever needed!
At Bohlender Funeral Chapel, our family is here for you. When working with us, you can expect to be treated with the utmost professionalism, compassion, and kindness. Our dedicated team is here to help you through the difficult process of pre-planning your funeral arrangements or honoring the life of your loved one.
You and your family are in good hands! Please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss your needs with a member of our family, or to schedule a personal tour of our facility.
