Our Father, Grandfather, and Spouse, Joventino "Tino" Castaneda, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022, at his home surrounded by family. He was 93. Tino was born on June 5, 1928, in Sonora, Texas, to Rafael and Amada Castaneda. He was the 2nd of 7 siblings. Survived by: His wife, Consuelo, and 5 children: Ida (Felix) Trujillo, Fort Collins, Tino Jr. (Gaylene) Castaneda, Mineral Wells, TX, Lisa (Mike) Markano, Loveland, Susan (Michael) Rodriguez, Loveland, Jimmy Castaneda, Fort Collins, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, brother Ralph Castanda, and sisters Odulia Perez, Grace Pratt, and Josie Rios. Preceded in death by: his parents, Rafael and Amada Castaneda, brother Rodolfo Castaneda, and sister Ofelia Garza. He married Consuelo Cardona on July 20, 1947 in Sonora, TX. In the early 1950's they moved to San Angelo, TX where Tino worked as a sheep shearer, a job he took pride in doing. In 1964 they moved with their 5 children to Fort Collins, CO. Tino worked at Ghent's Ford Motor Company and later at a recreation center for many years. His passion was going to the mountains. He loved taking out of state visitors to see the beautiful Colorado mountains. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, flea markets, auctions, and traveling. He was always planning his next vacation in his motor home with his family. Tino was always the life of the party and was known by all as the joker of the family, guaranteed to bring laughter to any room. His presence will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We love you Dad, Rest in Peace. A Memorial Service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins, CO, on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 10:00 am. Interment of ashes to follow at Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins, CO.
