    October 3, 1952 - June 3, 2022

    Brenda Marie (Whitmill) Thompson age 69 passed away Friday, June 3, 2022, in Wellington, Colorado. She was born in Shelley, Idaho on October 3, 1952, to Boyd Alton and Meldeane Joy (Hebdon) Whitmill. Brenda spent her early years in Idaho Falls & Shelley Idaho. She graduated from Shelley High School with the class of 1970. She was involved in many school activities & made a lot of lasting friendships. She met the love of her life, Kenneth Ray Thompson in Salt Lake City, Utah and they were married on October 12, 1974, in Wellington, Colorado. Brenda worked various jobs the early years of their marriage. They purchased the T-Bar Inn in Wellington and turned it into a family business. Ken and Brenda moved to Libby, Montana for a few years where they purchased and ran a motel. They loved Montana and had land where they hoped to someday build a home in their beautiful Mountains. They returned to Wellington and continued to run the T-Bar Inn. She worked side by side with Ken for over 40 years. She was fully committed not only to their business but to the people of the community. She gave many youth their first job, supported various community events and had a great love to help those in need. Brenda was a beautiful artist and she loved to dance. But most of all she loved spending time with Ken. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints where she loved to teach & be taught by the children. Brenda had an undying love for their dogs Buck, Rowdy, Boagie, Libby, Huckleberry, Bear & in her final months Elvis, a black cat. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; Ken’s parents, Cecil & Shirley Thompson; maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her siblings; Theresa Bateman, Shelley, ID; Clayton (Connie) Whitmill, Idaho Falls, ID; Julie (Layne) Stark, Lubbock, TX; Jeff (Bridget) Whitmill, Idaho Falls, ID; Celia (Ron) Wells, Winnemucca, NV and many other family members & friends. A memorial will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Centennial Park, 3815 Harrison Avenue, Wellington, Colorado. Following service will be a community potluck in the park. Where the memorial will be held in the park seating is limited. Please bring a folding chair or blanket if desired. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Wellington in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Ft. Collins, CO. 80524.
