PHYLLIS GOLDSBERRY – LIFE TRIBUTE Phyllis Ann Goldsberry, beloved mother and wife, of Fort Collins passed away peacefully at home on December 7, 2020 surrounded by her family. Phyllis was born in Fort Collins, Colorado on January 18, 1931 to Carl W. Jensen and Louise H. (Lago) Jensen. Phyllis attended Harris elementary school, Lincoln Junior High school and graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1949. She married Kenneth L. Goldsberry on December 17, 1959, and for the 60 years of their marriage they lived in Fort Collins. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Louise Jensen of Fort Collins. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Kenneth L. Goldsberry; her daughters Johnette (Tim) Knaus of Loveland, Janell Goldsberry of Arvada, CO, son Jeff Goldsberry of Fort Collins; her grandchildren Sean (Jamie) Knaus, Devin Knaus, Teagan Knaus (Tyler Tooley) and her great grandson Declan Knaus of Loveland, CO. She is also survived by her brother Gary (Nancy) Jensen of Fort Collins, and her sister in law Zola Bolin of Casper, Wyoming. She worked at Colorado State University for 16 years in the Housing/Food Service Payroll department where she made many lifelong friends. After retirement she played a significant role in establishing the Donath Lake Greenhouses business along with her husband and son taking on the duties of secretary, cashier and transplanting. She raised three children supporting their academic, church, social and sports activities and in later years provided the same support for her three grandchildren--attending sporting events and many dance recitals. Phyllis took great pride in her home and she loved entertaining family and friends. Many of these get togethers involved card games of which she always managed to win. She also enjoyed monthly gatherings with friends for breakfast and lunch. She loved to cook and bake and share her favorite staples of chocolate and Diana’s peanut butter cookies. Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing and quilting--handmade gifts that will be forever treasured by her family. In addition, she enjoyed playing the piano and did so beautifully. On the family property she enjoyed driving her golf cart chauffeuring her children, grandchildren and dogs in tow. Throughout her life she had many dogs, all of which held a special place in her heart, including her current beloved Honey and Jeff’s dog Mika. Together with Kenneth, Phyllis enjoyed traveling and camping in their 5th wheel. They travelled to many of the 50 states including a six-week road trip to Alaska. They also had the opportunity to travel to Japan and many European countries, and she enjoyed visiting Disneyland and Disney World with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed camping at their Crystal Lakes property and visiting Estes Park to window shop and grab a juicy cheeseburger and fries at Penelope’s. Phyllis was a member of the Good Sam “Summer Bummer” camping group and the Pioneer Women’s Association. As a young girl Phyllis attended the Presbyterian Church of Fort Collins and later the Meadowlark Church of Christ. On behalf of Phyllis, the Goldsberry family sends a special thank you to the following individuals/organizations for all of your care, compassion and for touching her life in a significant way: Diana Kobobel, Hazel Pierson, Vickie Edmonds, Mary Williams, Joann Morthhole, Nicole Gowan, Bev Sullivan, Zola Bolin, Pathways Hospice (Caroline, Sierra, Susie, Casey), Dr. Nicola Demacopoulos and his staff and the Staff of MCR (3rd floor). No funeral services will be held. In lieu of sending flowers, Phyllis’ family has asked that donations be made in her name to organizations close to her heart: American Heart Association, Pathways Hospice, ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) or the Alzheimer’s Association.
