Pauline Blanco

Pauline Blanco, age 86, after a brief illness passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, November 30th. Pauline, fondly referred to as "Paul" was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado, on January 15, 1927, to Amado "Tom" Gavaldon and Carolina A. Gavaldon. Pauline was raised and educated her whole life in Fort Collins, Colorado, having moved from Rocky Ford, Colorado, to Fort Collins after her birth in 1927. Pauline was married to her beloved spouse, Frank M. Blanco, on January 17, 1958, and enjoyed 51 years of marriage before Frank's passing on February 16, 2009. Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, her loving spouse and her brother, Carmen Gavaldon. Pauline is the oldest of eight children and is survived by her brothers and sisters: Bernice Sanchez Pete of Fort Collins, Colorado, Maxine Koskie John of Loveland, Colorado, Barbara Chavez Lee of Denver, Colorado, Millie Sanchez Don of Windsor, Colorado, Tom Gavaldon Barbara of Fort Collins, Colorado and Carlos Gavaldon Ann of Fort Collins, Colorado. Although Pauline did not have any children of her own, she was loved by her step-children, nephews and nieces, great-nephews and nieces, great step-grandchildren, too many to mention but recognized. Special recognition to the unique relationship between Pauline and her nephew, Edward Paul Gavaldon, who together with her parents and her brothers and sisters, raised Edward. Pauline will be remembered fondly and lovingly for her absolute devotion to her beloved spouse, Frank, her generosity to her family, extended family and friends and her genuine friendship to all who had the pleasure of meeting her. Pauline was famously known for her unique talent at gardening her rose bushes were symbolic of who she was, especially her pink roses, her culinary skills and her patience and understanding to listen to others who sought her advice and support. A Requiem High Mass to celebrate Pauline's life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 1250 7th Street, Windsor, Colorado. A private internment will be scheduled at a later time at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Collins.
