Jeffery L. Goff

On October 30, 1951, Jeff Goff was born to Don and Barbara Goff in Flint, Michigan, and his family's lives were never the same. With Jeff, what you saw was what you got... no false fronts. And what you got was a heart of gold that would help anyone who needed it, who loved his family and friends, who was happiest when in the out-of-doors. At age 10, Jeff was up at 5 a.m. learning to be a draftsman for his architect Dad with plans good enough to be used by age 12. His work was meticulous; that translated later in life to becoming a master carpenter, creating beauty from woods of every type. He took great pride in his work, preferring to make half the income in order to spend the time required to do his very best work. Everyone knew Jeff's love for the mountains, for backpacking his favorite backpacking partner was his niece, fishing, bow hunting, and annually taking two month trips to the Wind River Area in Wyoming with his constant companions, his dogs. With many weeks of filming these trips, he then spent winter time editing them onto DVDs and loved to share them with friends...or strangers...to enjoy the beauty of nature that he loved. Through the years, family time included mountain time...skiing, hiking...and some memorable travels when his Mom tagged along, too...canoeing the Boundary Waters and camping in Canada and Yellowstone. Jeff's last moments were standing in the river at Miracle Mile his favorite place to be with a fly rod in his hand doing what he enjoyed most. Jeff was preceded in death by his dad, Don Goff, and his sister, Janna Goff Dunning. He is survived by his mom, Barbara Goff; niece and nephew, Aecian and Ryan Pendleton; great niece, Azelyn Pendleton, all of Fort Collins; cousins, Cheryl Umlauf, Carol Guajardo, and Aunt Virginia Pfeifle in Ithaca, Michigan; and treasured friends too numerous to list but never taken for granted. Jeff will be missed...but not forgotten. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Colorado Wildlife Society or Wyoming Wildlife Federation in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on December 9, 2012 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
