Glenda Mary Lockwood

Glenda Mary Lockwood went to meet her Savior on January 2, 2015 at the Heart Center of the Rockies. She passed in the presence of her children. Due to her strong faith the family knows they will see her again on the streets of glory. Glenda was born on August 22, 1936 in Las Animas, Colorado. She was the daughter of Oren "Glen" and Maude Evans. The family, with two older siblings, Shirley Godfrey and Billy Evans, moved extensively around southern Colorado and finally settled in Englewood where Glenda attended Englewood High School and graduated in 1954. She met Delbert Duane Lockwood at Colorado State University and they were married on September, 1955. The couple had three children, Daniel Raymond Lockwood, Kathryn Lee Gandy, and Ronald Alan Lockwood. Since Delbert was in the Air Force this young family traveled the world and lived at many air bases throughout the United States and in Japan, Libya and Taiwan. Delbert was killed in 1972 flying out of Vietnam. On September 17, 1998 Glenda married Marvin Roy Bryant from Ft. Collins, Colorado. Together they moved to Cherokee Park, Colorado where they built a home. Marvin was the builder and Glenda was the decorator. Their home is truly a work of art. They wanted it to be a place that God could use to minister to others. They shared a love of the mountains, their children, grandchildren, extended family and many good friends. The foundation of Glenda's life was her faith in Christ which she shared by word and example with her family and all those around her. Her sincerest hope was that she would be an encouragement and help to those in need both spiritually and physically. Glenda was famous for her hospitality and there was always room at the table for more guests. When it came to entertaining Glenda had a flair that couldn't be matched. She was the life of the party. She encouraged everyone to join in a rousing game of cards, dominos, or dice. Music was very important to Glenda. She loved to sing all the time -- with her sister, Shirley, with the Ft. Collins Chorale, and in the car with her family. She also loved garage sales. The most fun she had was getting a really good bargain. Glenda loved adventure and travel. She loved to write and tell stories -- especially when she could laugh about herself. She was a strong woman but also very sensitive. Glenda is survived by her husband, Marvin; sister, Shirley and brother-in-law, Don of Aurora, CO; sister-in-law, Betty Evans of Denver, CO; her son, Daniel and daughter-in-law, Joyce of Ft. Worth, TX; her daughter, Kathryn and son-in-law, Bill of Lander, WY; her son, Ronald of Lander, WY; her daughter-in-law, Shauna of Kemmerer, WY and her 7 grandchildren and their spouses, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations should be sent in Glenda Lockwood’s name to the Wounded Warriors Project in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at LifePointe Church, 900 E. Prospect.
