Wylma Ruth Lythgoe passed away on June 27, 2017 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Wylma was born July 29, 1925 in Great Falls, Montana. She is one of 13 children born to Herman Albert Skaw and Florence Ethel Whitehorn. A Private Family Service will be held Grandview Cemetery. There will be no visitation, but a Memorial Service will be held to honor her life at the Worthington, 900 Worthington Cir, Fort Collins at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017.

Wylma graduated from Darby High School and worked at the Trentwood Rolling Mill during WWII. She married John Wendell Lythgoe December 2, 1950. The family lived in Salt Lake City for a time and then moved to Broomfield, Colorado. Her husband, a traveling salesman, worked across the country sharing his ideas about the plastics industry. He preceded her death in 1965. After his death, Wylma finished raising the children in Loveland and Fort Collins, Colorado. She returned to a business school in Boulder, Colorado training for secretarial and administrative assistance. After schooling she moved to Fort Collins and began to work at Colorado State University maintaining a rigorous schedule in the Office of Planning and Budgets. She advanced to Senior Policy Budget Analyst and retired from her position at the age of 68.

After retirement, she struggled with not staying busy. She returned to work as cashier at Builders Square and Sutherland Lumber Company where she served the community for several more years. Wylma served faithfully in callings of the LDS church since her baptism in 1960.

Wylma is preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters: Emerald, Daryl, Maurice, Alvylda, Francis, Arlene, Myrtle, Ralph, Don, Glen and Belva. She is survived by a brother, Kenneth, in Hamilton, Montana. Her youngest daughter, Kim Ortega (Harry) lost her battle with cancer in 2007. Grandson, Andrew Scott Asa was in a fatal car accident in 2001.

She is survived by two children, Scott (Kris) of Parker, CO and Wendy Standring (Charlie) of Fort Collins. Her posterity consists of 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Wylma was a great example all her life of being a hard worker and caring individual. She was welcomed at the Worthington Senior Living in 2015 and became an active member of the senior community.
