Captain William Duncan Wayland, 89, passed away quietly on April 15, 2014. He was born January 26. 1925 in Prairie Hill, TX to William Ray and Olive Wayland. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Adeline; daughters, Peggy Dennis Peyton and Deborah David McGregor; son, Kenneth Kathi Wayland; granddaughters, Tori Arboreen and Toni Sharp; 3 grandsons, Ryan Price, Dustin Williams, and Weston Williams; 2 great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; his sister, Rosemary Lawrence Willenborg; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and son, Clifford Ray. A Luncheon/Memorial service will be held to honor him on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. at the VFW Hall,.602 Lesser Dr., Fort Collins, CO. All are welcome. He will be buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date. Bill was a gunner on a B-24 in WWII. He then flew PanAm Airlines for 3 years. He retired from the old Frontier Airlines after 25 years in March of 1984. He then flew for a small airline out of Phoenix, AZ until they went out of business.
