William V. Thompson

William V. "Bill" Thompson passed away July 3, 2011. He was born in Raton, New Mexico to Ottowa C. and Edith Rauch Thompson. Bill moved to Fort Collins in 1946 with his brother, Hartzell "Slim" Thompson and sister-in-law, Mary Ann. They established Thompson Repair Shop on North College. Later he worked for Ghent Motor Company before opening Bill Thompson Automotive. After retiring he and his wife, Cathy opened Laporte Hardware. He is survived by his wife, Cathy of 54 years; sons, Tom, Lee Kris, Bill Fran; daughter, Cynthia Young Bob and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Hartzell, O.J.; sister, Enola Fox and granddaughter, Cherish Thompson. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
