William Ward Greenlee (Bud) passed away peacefully on November 7, 2018, he was surrounded by his family. Bud lived a full life and left a lasting impression on all those he met. Bud was making new friends until the end of his life at 94. He would remember conversations with a new friend he met at a restaurant, post office, barber shop or anywhere he would be doing his errands and send along a book they discussed, a new pair of warm socks, a gift card to his favorite store or a bottle of wine. Many times these became lasting friendships until the end of his life.

Bud grew up in Larchmont New York and was drafted in to the army immediately after high school. Bud fought with distinction in World War II with the 34th Infantry Division, nickname "Red Bull" in the Italian Campaign. After the war he was in the active reserves until 1961. He earned the purple heart while serving in Italy and was honorably discharged in 1961 with the rank of Captain.

Bud returned home and received a five year college degree in Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in three years. He worked as an architect in Stanford Connecticut with James Evans Associates until the age of 85. Bud remained close friends with James Evans, principle and Per Sahmel,
partner. He would jokingly say that they continued working by charging World War II prices.

He married the love of his life, Mary Russell when he returned home from the war. They were married for fifty-eight years. Mary loved the social life with neighbors and friends. Together Bud and Mary developed friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Bud was an avid painter, artist and reader. He never lost a game of Trivial Pursuit and love watching Jeopardy. He could discuss a diverse range of topics from Paris in the 1800's Renaissance Architecture to The Roman Empire.

Bud leaves behind a daughter Nanette and a son William and six grandchildren Riley, Sage, Forest, Hunter, Gretchen and Lahrs. He will be missed and was truly part of the greatest generation.
