William (Bill) Franklin Cook Jr of Fort Collins passed on March 31 after a 14-month battle with cancer. Bill was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 18, 1947 to William and Ruth Cook. He graduated from Capitol University and started his career at his father's furniture store, Cook Furniture in Columbus, Ohio. He had an award-winning career at Broyhill Furniture for over 37 years as a stellar sales representative and account manager. He then worked for New Classic Furniture, winning many awards for outstanding sales.
He married Monna Weldon in 1967 and they had three beautiful children, Wende (Bijan) Richard, Christopher (Monica) Cook and Scott (Lauren) Cook. In 2001, he married the love of his life, Mary O'Brien. He leaves his adored granddaughter Enya Testard, who made him a proud CSU grandfather. He also leaves a sister, Elaine Wright, nephews Brad, Mark and Michael Wright and their spouses and children.
His passions included hunting, fishing, dogs and horses. He was a volunteer for the horse and hiking patrol for Poudre Wilderness Volunteers. Mary and Bill spent many wonderful years at their mountain house in Red Feather Lakes with the horses, dogs, family, and friends. He will be sorely missed by his many friends, colleagues, his loving family, and special canine buddies. Mary and the family send a special thanks for the great care Bill was given by UC Health, Dr. Kemme, and Pathways Hospice.'
A visitation will be held 10 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2019 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2019 at Grandview Cemetery.
