Willaruth "Billie" Jesser

WillaRuth "Billie" Rutledge Jesser, 82, of Fort Collins, died November 3, 2014 at McKee Hospice. WillaRuth Billie Rutledge was born on February 28, 1932, in Haxton, Colorado to William and Irma Ruth Waters Rutledge. Her family was some of the first homesteaders in eastern Colorado and she was very proud of the fact that she was a native Coloradoan. Her family farmed in Yuma County until 1936 when they moved to Fort Collins, Colorado. Billie attended Rocky Ridge School, Cache La Poudre, and graduated from Fort Collins High in 1950. Billie married Gordon Jesser on August 20, 1950. Billie and Gordon were members of St. John's Lutheran Church and very involved with Hayburners 4-H club. Memorial Contributions may be made to Accent Hospice Care and Pathways Hospice Care in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524. The family wishes to express gratitude for the kind and loving care that Billie received from both these agencies. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister. She is survived by her 5 children, Bill and Sally Jesser, Dan and Diane Jesser, James and Edith Jesser, John and Connie Jesser, Julee Jesser and Kevin Schmidt; 14 grandchildren, Mandy, Teri, Kip, Aaron, Dana, Jesser, Frances and Kyle Koehn, Caleb Jesser, Samuel Jesser, Cate, Austin and Jillian Jesser, Jed and Chess Johnson, Jolene Johnson and Heath Morris; and 4 great grandchildren, Kaylee, Mason, Landen and Ava. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Chaplain Larry Kirkpatrick will officiate the service.
