Willard Duane Froseth of Fort Collins passed away on May 22, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 7, 1926 to Selmer and Bessie Froseth in Garretson, South Dakota. After serving in the U.S. Navy as a radar operator in WWII, Willard earned his degree in mechanical engineering from South Dakota State University. He spent his career in the Army Corps of Engineers for the U.S. Department of Civil Defense. Willard was an avid runner, a sport he took up after retirement. A favorite memory of many is the winning smile he flashed, arms raised in the air as he crossed many a finish line. Always top in his age group, Willard participated in local marathons, charity runs and the Senior Olympics. He never met a stranger, always had a joke or story and was loved by so many. Willard was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and Saint Ann Elizabeth Parrish. Willard is survived by his children, Steve (Debra) Froseth, Bruce (Sue) Froseth, Cheryl (Jeff) Shaw, Susan Froseth, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Preceding Willard in death was his wife Shirley Froseth and daughter Cynthia McGlauflin.
The visitation will be held 4-6pm, Wednesday, May 28, 2025 with the rosary to follow at 6 pm at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. The funeral mass will be held 10:30 am, Thursday, May 29, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 5450 S. Lemay Ave. Interment with military honors will be held 10:30 am, Monday, June 2, 2025 at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.
