Weston Thomas Hornig

November 7, 1983 — December 3, 2025

Listen to Obituary
Weston Thomas Hornig (born November 7, 1983, died December 3, 2025) was my son. He is survived by his father (Charles Evan Hornig) and by myself (Susanna Hornig Priest). His older brother, Andrew, passed away in 2018. Like most brothers, they squabbled from time to time, but underneath it all, they had deep love for one another.

Weston was above all a musician. He was most proud of his associate's degree in audio engineering from Shoreline Community College in Shoreline, Washington, as well as producing and contributing to five published albums. He lamented that the music industry thrived on commercialism rather than artistic excellence and innovation.

One of his friends once told me (as a sort of gentle warning, it seemed) that Weston would be all music all the time. That is true, but he also dabbled in sketching and stand-up comedy, and was writing a novel about a made-up species, the fishcats.

Many of his friends and collaborators have commented on his originality and creativity, and others on his help with their own musical journeys. His family and friends will miss him so deeply it is almost unbearable.
