Wayne R. Seaman passed away September 14, 2012. Wayne was born on January 23, 1921 in Loveland. He graduated from Denver South High School and later graduated from Colorado A&M College CSU with a BS in Forestry and a Masters Degree in Fish Biology. Wayne is a decorated World War II Veteran and served as 2nd Lieutenant as a Tank Commander in the Fourth Armored Division in the Army. He received two Purple Hearts and a Silver Star. Wayne worked for the Division of Wildlife for over 30 years and retired as Regional Fish Research Director in Northern Colorado. Among his accomplishments while working for the DOW, he was instrumental in introducing warm water fish species into Colorado lakes and reservoirs. He also served on the State Water Commission Board and managed several of the state's fish hatcheries. Wayne was an Eagle Scout, avid outdoorsman, and loved fishing, hunting, camping, skiing, and climbing many of Colorado's fourteeners. Wayne passed his love, knowledge, and appreciation of the outdoors to his children and grandchildren. Wayne was preceded in death by the love of his life, Virginia, his wife of 66 years. Wayne is survived by his four daughters, Lorna Sweeney, Carol Blanco, Jackie Peterson Lynn, Wendy Bell James; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. His greatest joy in his life was his family. A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. on Friday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Chaplain Rick Holmlund will officiate at the services. Those who desire may view Mr. Seaman from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made in Wayne's memory to The Wounded Warrior Project in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 West Olive Street, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
