Wayne L. Marshall, a World War II veteran of the Air Force and a 28-year resident of Fort Collins, passed away at the age of 84 on Memorial Day, May 29, 2006. Wayne was born in Cleghorn, Iowa, May 2, 1922 to Derius and Minnie Marshall. Wayne married Maurine Deitering, of Bancroft, Iowa in 1941. Wayne and Maurine resided in Fort Dodge, Iowa where Wayne retired from Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1978. Upon retirement, the couple relocated to Fort Collins to be closer to family. Wayne is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maurine, along with 5 children, Sherry Winfrey and husband Bill of Arvada, Pamela Olson and husband Dennis of Livermore, Debra Horner of Arvada, Jaci Juelfs of Fort Collins, AND Brad and wife Cindy of Longmont. In addition, there are 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. He dedicated the last 20 years of his life as the sole caretaker of his wife, who is confined to a wheelchair due to M.S. He loved the mountains, camping, sports, running, literature and multiple other hobbies. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, five brothers, an infant son, Kevin, son-in-law Brian Horner, and grandson-in-law John Kelley. Cremation is planned through Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A private family service is scheduled for Friday.
