Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Wayne R. Bell, 87 passed away peacefully on April 10, 2012 with his loving wife, Sylvia and son, Bob at his bedside at McKee Hospital, Loveland, Colorado. Wayne was born on September 22, 1924 in Los Angeles, California to Della and Harold Bell. Wayne graduated from Hamilton High School in 1943 where he was an All City football player and president of the Knights Club. After graduation, Wayne joined the military and served in the Navy as a Radio Man from 1943 to 1945 during World War II. On June 2, 1946 Wayne married the love of his life, Sylvia Moosberg. He was the proud parent of his two sons, Steve and Bob and was blessed with six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Wayne was on the Los Angeles Police Department from 1946 to 1966 attaining the rank of Sergeant. When Wayne retired from the police department, he went to work as a Claim Representative for Allstate Insurance Companies until his retirement in 1985. Wayne and Sylvia were able to retire and have their dream home built in Lake of the Pines, California. This new dream home also included a golf course where Wayne was able to drive his beloved golf cart to the course at least 3-4 times a week. When the grandchildren came for their annual summer visits, Wayne enjoyed teaching them how to golf while also taking them fishing and swimming along with site seeing day trips. When not on the golf course or working in their beautiful garden, Wayne and Sylvia were able to enjoy their travels all over the world. They documented these travels with an abundance of photos and movies for all to enjoy. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sylvia; son, Bob Bell Kathi; daughter-in-law, Marilee Bell; daughter-in-law, Judy Bell; sister, Norma Hackworth and sister-in-law, Carol Bell; grandchildren, Erik Bell Kara; Brook Bell; Darin Bell Wendy; Brett Bell Diana; Kristina Casey Bell and Ryan Bell; great-grandchildren, Quentin and Peyton Bell in addition to cousins, nieces and nephews. Wayne is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Della and Wilbur Hildebrand; father, Harold Bell; son, Stephen Bell and Wayne's older brother, Bob Bell. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Calvary Skyline, 101 Skyline Dr., Thousand Oaks, California. Directions: Take Hwy 101, Thousand Oaks, exit Hampshire Road, go east 1 block and turn left onto Thousand Oaks Blvd, then right on to Skyline Dr.
