Listen to Obituary
Warren Keith Kraxberger, 88, went to be with his Lord on August 12, 2010. He was born November 6, 1921 in Ft. Collins, Colorado to Martin and Laura Kraxberger. He and his siblings were raised on farms in Arriba, and later, Falcon, Colorado. While in high school Warren met the love of his life, Verlene Saucerman. He attended UNC in Greeley for one year. Against his parents' wishes, he dropped out of college and traveled to California to be with Verlene and they married on September 14, 1941. They have four children, Larry Pat of Atlanta, GA, Judy Harley Bixler of Ft. Worth, TX, David Linda of Atlanta, GA, and Steve Dede of Ft. Collins. Warren was always interested in cars so he began work in the parts business in 1946 with Foster Auto Parts. He started his own store, Parts, Inc. in Loveland in 1964. He later moved to Ft. Collins and opened Tiger Auto Parts on N. College Ave. His son, Steve joined him in the business and they expanded to seven locations. They eventually sold their business, but Warren continued to work at the stores, delivering parts and being around the customers he so enjoyed. Warren was a long time member of Meadowlark Church of Christ, and was very important in their bus ministry program. He loved driving the bus to help people get to church. He was a very devout Christian who truly lived his faith. His lifelong hobby was collecting Studebaker cars. At one time he had 11 Studebakers and 4 Avantis. However, his first love was being around people. He genuinely enjoyed his friends and making new ones. He loved pulling practical jokes and making everyone laugh. Warren's warm humor will be remembered and missed by all who knew him. Warren was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne, of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Verlene; their four children, nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grand children. Warren also leaves his sister, Virginia Shaver of Colorado Springs; and his brother, Doug Pat of Portland, Oregon. His family asks that in lieu of flowers any contributions be made to Mountain States Children's Home in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Ft. Collins, CO 80524. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
