Walter Winter

Walter J. Winter "Wally", 75, of Fort Collins, died at home on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006. He was born March 3, 1931, in Fort Collins to Gerhard and Elsie Maves Winter. He attended Fort Collins High School and served in the U.S. Navy Reserve. On Aug. 12, 1951, he was united in marriage to Marjorie A. Camerzell in Fort Collins. In 1957, Wally and Marge moved to Boulder, where he worked at Dow Chemical and Estey Printing. They were members of Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Boulder. They returned to Fort Collins in 1973, and he worked as a lithographer for Don Art Printing until retirement in 1992. Among other hobbies, Wally loved gardening and woodworking and was an award-winning photographer. Wally is survived by his wife, Marjorie; sons, Bryan, of Fort Collins, and Daniel and wife Sharon, of Wheat Ridge; his sister, Alice Ward, of Ocala, Fla.; and his brother, William, of Upper Lake, Calif. Other survivors include sister-in-law Janet Browning and husband, Jack, of Fort Collins; sister-in-law Myrna Marrow and husband, Gary, of Livermore; brother-in-law George Heinert, of Mission, S.D.; and 14 nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Gary and Benjamin; and a sister, Lauretta Obermeier. A memorial service will be held for Wally at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
