Walter Wilkins was born March 21, 1934 in Fort Collins, CO to Roy and Bertha (Rogers) Wilkins, he was the middle child of three boys. He departed this world on September 28, 2024 surrounded by family and love in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Walter married the love of his life, Gladys (Wessel) Wilkins, on July 16, 1955 and to this union two sons were born, Edward and Richard.
Walt spent 25 years of his life working for Woodward Governor. He retired to spend the rest of his years doing crafts with his wife where they continued to make their living. He had a love for fishing, camping and traveling with Gladys and spent many years making memories with family and friends doing so. He had a passion for war history, collecting firearms and old westerns, he was a true patriot and loved any and all eagles and the American Flag. Most of all, Walt was a loyal friend and true family man. He loved and adored his bride, often referred to as Nammie, after grandchildren came along. Walt was quick to share the many fond memories and adventures he had with friends and family, and never once failed to share the deep love and memories he still held for Gladys. In 2022 he moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming to be closer to his granddaughter, Crystal, and great grandchildren. For the remining two years of his life he was surrounded by family, new friends and many animals making more memories doing what he loved and causing mischief and many smiles along the way. He was a true charmer with anyone he met.
