On Wednesday, Augutst 18, 2021, Walter Eugene Valdez, loving son, brother, and uncle passed away in Fort Collins, Colorado at the age of 57.
Born in Fort Collins on December 20, 1963, he lived there until 1977. His family moved to Taos, New Mexico, where he graduated from Taos High School in 1982. He briefly attended the University of New Mexico, becoming a lifelong UNM Lobo fan. in 1992, Walter returned to Fort Collins to become an electrician apprentice. Walter worked as a licensed electrician for many years in Colorado. Walter enjoyed fishing and golfing with his dad and brother. He was an avid Denver Bronco, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rockies, and NASCAR fan who enjoyed watching games with friends and family.
Walter was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Valdez. He is survived by his mother, Leonarda (Abeyta) Valdez; his sister, Natalie (Keith) Gamberg; his brother, Zachary (Jill) Valdez; his nieces Bailey, Rachel, and Amanda; his nephew, Mason, along with many cousins, aunts, and uncles.
A memorial and celebration of life will be planned at a future date.
