The Star never dies on TV or in the movies but our star passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on February 6, 2010 at the age of 86. Walter August John Wally Bujack, Jr. was born in Denver, Colorado on September 7, 1923 to Walter A. J.Bujack, Sr. and Cleo "Pearse" Bujack. Wally served in the US Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1943 due to disability. He left shortly after to pursue a career in film and married his lifelong love Frances Fran Smith on March 27, 1949. Wally spent many years in law enforcement, as an officer for the Fort Collins Police Department and the Colorado State University Police Department; in addition he served as a Larimer County Justice of the Peace. In the 1960's he and his wife founded and operated Bujack's Security Patrol and in 1972 founded Bujack's Armored Service in Fort Collins. Throughout the years Wally appeared in many movies and commercials nationwide including movies such as Best Years of Our Lives, Waiting to Exhale and local and national commercials for companies on radio and TV including spots for the Thrifty Nickel Newspaper, Pringle Brothers Spirits and US Health. Wally pursued this passion until his last days. His passion and love for the Fort Collins Police Department continued throughout his entire life even recently getting the chance to sit down and relive the good ol' days with retired Police Captain Tom McLellan. Wally will be forever remembered for his continuous support of the entire family, his passion and love for law enforcement and the many appearances in film and television throughout the years. Wally is survived by his daughters, Leslee Garcia, Linda Anderson and Lenore Elliott all of Fort Collins; his son, John Mayrbat of Bend, Oregon; six grandchildren, Robert Erin Swartz, Marc Samantha Garcia and Michael Garcia all of Fort Collins, Lorena Townsend of Colorado Springs, Sarah Mayrbat and Elizabeth Mayrbat of Bend; two great-grandsons, Quinten Garcia and Gabriel Garcia. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Jule, Beverly, Shirley and Cleo; and brother, Charles. Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, and to his Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Graveside Service with Military Honors, Fort Collins All Veterans Honor Guard will immediately follow at Grandview Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that Wally be remembered in your thoughts and prayers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Collins Police Department in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St. Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.
