Violet "Vi" Redabaugh, 93, passed away in Berthoud on October 20, 2012 peacefully in her sleep to be with God. Violet was born in Florence, Colorado to Jacob and Julia Schuler on December 4, 1918. She married Don Redabaugh on May 4, 1941. They were married for 67 years before Don's death in 2008. Violet was a member of the First Baptist Church now LifePointe in Fort Collins for 65 years and served as the organist for the church for 24 years. After graduating from Colorado State College of Education now University of Northern Colorado she was an elementary music teacher in Canyon City and Windsor. She taught private piano and organ lessons for 40 years. After Don's retirement in 1982, Violet and Don spent 12 winters as "snow birds" in Mesa Arizona. She volunteered at the Ft. Collins Senior Center and at the Poudre Valley Hospital gift shop. In addition to her joy of spending time with her family and friends, Vi's activities included Bible Study, choir, crafts, bridge and attending sporting events. She was also a member of P.E.O. Chapter U in Windsor for 43 years.
Violet is survived by her son, Gary Redabaugh, Carol of Broomfield; daughter, Donna Fogel Jerry of Tucker, Georgia; and daughter, Roene Fuller Larry of Belen, New Mexico. She is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Redabaugh and a sister, Emilia Devendorf. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the LifePointe Church, 900 E. Prospect in Fort Collins. Donations may be made to the Life Pointe Church or the P.E.O. Chapter U in Windsor.
