Viola Alumbaugh

Viola Mae Alumbaugh, 85, formerly of Fort Collins, died April 13, 2009 in Casper, Wyoming. Mrs. Alumbaugh was born August 12, 1923 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Alva C. Holloway and Amy E. Scarlett Holloway. Viola married Jesse Earl Alumbaugh on January 20, 1946 in Grand Junction. Viola was very active at American Baptist Church, in the Women's Ministry, Day Camp, and Vacation Bible School. She was the Director of ElderHaus in its first years and stayed active for many years with ElderHaus. She also helped other elderly people in the church. Viola gave amazing care to her friends and neighbors. Survivors include her husband, Jesse Earl Alumbaugh of Casper; sons, Marvin R. Alumbaugh of Casper and Richard L. Alumbaugh of West Valley, Utah; four grandsons, five great-grandchildren, and a niece and nephew. A Memorial Service will be held at American Baptist Church, 600 S. Shields, Thursday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Bill Prather will officiate at the service. Those who desire may view Mrs. Alumbaugh Thursday, April 16 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
