Vera Cunningham

Vera K. Cunningham, 90, of Fort Collins died July 18, 2008, at McKee Hospice in Loveland. Vera was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Butte, Mont., to Patrick and Johanna Roach. Vera was married to Arther G. Wright from 1936 to 1945. Vera was married to her second husband, Clarence Cunningham, Jr., from 1947 to 1982. Vera lived in Fort Collins most of her life. She was in the newspaper business and was a day care provider. She was a woman of dignity and took pride in creating a lovely home. Vera was an accomplished seamstress and cook. She also was known as Grandma Vera to many day care children. Vera will be remembered with love. Vera is survived by her daughter, Jo-Sharon Payton of Fort Collins; her sister, Marg Edmonds of Loveland; nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Johanna Roach; husbands, Arther G. Wright and Clarence Cunningham, Jr.; brothers, Frank and Tommy Roach; sister, Jo Miller; daughter, Jean M. Stovall; and son, Arther J. Wright. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
