Vaughnette Klein, 84, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 from chronic lung and heart disease at North Shore Health and Rehab.
She was born 5/19/33 to Vaughn and Gwendolene Burgess in Manville, WY. She was delivered at home by her grandmother, Marjorie Hiatt. Her brother, Dean Burgess (Jane), reside in Montrose, CO.
The family moved to Colorado where she graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1951, and she married Vernon Kindsfater in 1953. He preceded her in death in 1959. They were cattle ranchers outside Fort Collins. They had two children, Barry (preceded her in death) and Kathy Lynn Walrath (Edwin).
After the death of Vernon, she and Kathy lived with her parents in Greeley, CO. She enjoyed being a mom, homemaker, and she worked part-time as a teachers aide.
She met and married Arnold Klein (preceded her in death) in 1971. They resided in Loveland where they owned and operated a construction company. Vaughnette assisted in managing their rental properties. They enjoyed traveling in their motorhome after retirement.
Vaughnette cherished her family, and they cherished her. Her hobbies were gardening, knitting, and crocheting. She enjoyed dancing and listening to Arnold's polka band. She was known for her good cooking, hearty laugh, and hospitality. She always made everyone feel welcome. She and Arnold were long time members of Zion Lutheran Church.
Also preceding her in death are her stepsons, Bob and Jim Bernhardt.
In addition to the survivors listed above are stepson, Dick Bernhardt (Bonnie); grandchildren, Jacen Kamtz (Deanna); Nikki Fry Kamtz (Clayton); step grandchildren, Lane Bernhardt (J-Lynn) along with 7 others; 5 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren; nieces, Marsha Hrynkow, Dawn Burgess and nephew LD Burgess (Shari).
A memorial service will be held 11:00am Friday, March 2 at Zion Lutheran Church, Loveland. Graveside service will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins. Pastor Ron Lauterbach officiating.
