Vance passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 83 years old. He was born to parents Vance and Harriett Davis on December 18, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up known as 'Sonny' with his older sister Rose and cousin George as his 'partners in crime.' He is survived by his two daughters, Vivianna and Victoria Davis.

He had a lifelong passion for learning and having new experiences which he passed on to everyone around him, especially through the gift he had for telling stories about adventures that you'd normally find in novels. He went on many adventures to destinations ranging from road tripping the United States in a Mustang, to backpacking Europe for a summer, to exploring all over Central America. The thing he enjoyed most about traveling was seeing how other people lived their life and trying to spend a day in someone else's shoes.

He settled down later in life and got married to Francisca Cerna in 1990 in his favorite place of all, Southern California. He moved there in the late 1960's and stayed until 1995, when he moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado to continue his work as a mechanical engineer, where he remained until 2017.

One constant that remained throughout his life was his admiration for sports and muscle cars; his absolute favorites were the Chevrolet Corvettes of the 1960's. He owned several throughout his life, and those around him recall that he was often in his home garage tuning them up or getting the car ready for a weekend trip to a Corvette show where he often won a 'Best in Show' ribbon. One year he even won the 'Longest Distance Traveled' award for driving his orange1963 split-window Corvette Sting Ray from Colorado Springs, Colorado to Monterey, California. He knew so much about Corvettes, in fact, that he served as a judge for others in various events put on by the National Corvette Restorers' Society. He was a loyal member of his local Colorado Springs Corvette Club for many years.

When he wasn't driving his Corvette, he spent a lot of time in the great outdoors. He particularly enjoyed hiking trails all over Southern Colorado and skiing in the winter.

Vance was also a devoted father to two daughters. Vivianna is the oldest and is Director of Operations at a local digital marketing business and is engaged to the love of her life. Victoria is about to graduate college and is pursuing a degree in IT and international business. They both take after their dad in that they are living life to the fullest. They love to travel as well, so far having been to central America and Spain together. They plan to travel more together in the future.

He will be remembered as someone who always lived life to the fullest and who went after every opportunity that was presented to him. His friends and family all say that Vance brought them so much joy and laughter; lighting up every room he entered with his charming smile and witty humor.
