Listen to Obituary
Truman Harsha Jr. was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on October 15, 1921. He went home to be with the Lord on April 8, 2010. Truman graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1939. He received a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Curtiss-Wright Technical Institute in Glendale, California in 1941. He later earned a BS Degree in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1949 after returning from service. Truman served his country as an officer in US Army Field Artillery from 1943 to 1946 in the Pacific theater during World War II. After graduating from college he worked as a highway engineer for a few years before entering the furniture business in Oklahoma. He spent most of his life in the furniture business in both Oklahoma and Colorado. He finished his work life as a real estate broker in Loveland in 1986. Truman met the love of his life, Betty Jane DeHanas, in Miami, Oklahoma in 1939. They were married on June 7, 1943. He and Betty had five children: John Harsha who died at birth, Doug Harsha, Cathy Agee, Jim Harsha, and Truman Harsha, III. Over the years their family has grown to include eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The most significant event in Truman's life occurred when he was a young man. He received Jesus Christ into his life as his personal savior. That event gives his family great comfort today in that we know he is now in the loving arms of the God he loved and served all his life. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 900 East Prospect. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery.
