Truman "Butch" Harsha III, 79 years old, of Fort Collins, Colorado, went home to be with the Lord on April 12, 2025 after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Miami, Oklahoma on Christmas Eve 1945. He was devoted husband and friend to wife JoDell for 57 years. He was a loving dad to his son, Brett and daughter, Christie (Anderson), son-in-law Matt, and grandchildren Allison, Christian, Ashton, and Ryan.
Butch grew up in Fort Collins, graduated from CSU and entered the military. He was a Captain in the US Air Force before moving back to Colorado in 1973. He spent most of his career as a computer systems analyst for the USDA, where he was a leader and designer of their large computer network. Butch retired in 2004 and enjoyed spending his time with family and friends. He enjoyed carpentry and made anything from furniture, to birdfeeders, to toys for his grandchildren; he even built the screened back patio and picnic table that has been the spot where numerous family celebrations take place. Butch was known for his faith and met and mentored many men in weekly morning Bible Studies until his recent illness. He and JoDell have a beautiful backyard, where he delighted to feed a flock of ducks, birds, rabbits, and many squirrels, which he could hand feed whole walnuts. He is deeply missed by all creatures, great and small.
The most significant event in Butch's life occurred when he received Jesus Christ into his life as his personal savior. That event gives his family great comfort today in that we know he is now in the loving arms of the God he loved and served all his life.
Butch is survived by his family, brother Jim, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Christian, parents Truman and Betty Harsha, sister Cathy (Agee) and brothers John Charles and Doug (who passed away the week before Butch).
Butch's life will be celebrated at an open house gathering, date TBD.
