Trent was born on December 5, 1969 in Spencer, Iowa to Sally Marie Arthur and Frank Lyle Peck. The family moved to Colorado in 1971. He enjoyed skiing, soccer, and hanging out with friends. He loved to dance! He went to school at Eiber Elementary and Lakewood Junior High for 7-8th grade. In 1985, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona with his father and graduated from Thunderbird High School in May of 1989. After graduation he went to bartending school and became an expert mixologist! Trent loved driving his old beat up Volkswagen bug around in Phoenix with friends. He enjoyed going on trips to Rocky Point, Mexico with his friend Jason. They spent a lot of time at JJ's Cantina enjoying the beverages and scenery. Trent and Jason were the best of friends - close enough to each get a tattoo - Jason of Bert and Trent of Ernie on their booties! Trent enjoyed going to Minnesota to stay with his Aunt Shelley and Uncle Mark during the summer. He was grateful to them for the oatmeal baths when he got the chicken pox while visiting them! Also on these summer trips he loved heading down to Okoboji to see his grandparents, an aunt and cousins. He especially liked pushing all the younger cousins into the lake while they fished on the dock. Also, sneaking into the drive-in movie with older cousins that make you walk across the cemetery in order to get in for free! On October 18, 1990, in Phoenix, Trent was a pedestrian hit by a car. This resulted in a traumatic brain injury. Trent was in ICU for a few weeks and then moved to Bryan's Center Care Facility in Phoenix. He had many friends that came to visit. Then Trent moved to Colorado and stayed at Mediplex Rehabilitation Hospital. He continued to receive rehab and was not able to make much progress due to the injuries he sustained. He then moved to another care facility called Heritage. He lived there for a year and moved to Minnesota with his mother and sister, Charity. He lived at Castle Ridge Care facility for the next 12 years. In October of 2005, Trent moved back to Colorado. He lived near his sister, Tracy, in Fort Collins, Colorado. He lived at Lemay Avenue Health and Rehab. During the day Trent was fortunate to go to Mindset Creative Community Connections. He participated in delivering Meals on Wheels, bowling, trips to parks and many other activities. He was a kind hearted, people person. He didn't know a stranger. Often would be out with his mom and random people would say hi that she didn't know but he did. He knew everyone and everyone knew him. Trent was also a prankster and was a very funny individual. He loved to scare people but did not like being scared. Every day he would scare his big sister on her walk home from school always in a different spot, she dreaded that walk knowing it would happen but not knowing when or where he would be jumping out. He was a very good skier. He enjoyed taking his little sister, Charity on very hard ski runs. He loved tubing down the Salt River with his dad and as he got older with his friends. On Tuesday, August 20, Trent developed a respiratory infection that turned into pneumonia. His body worked very hard to get better but his heart just couldn't beat strong enough. The evening of August 27, laying with his sister Tracy by his side his body finally gave in. He died surrounded by loving family and friends. His family is very grateful for the wonderful care he received from the many places he resided at. Each place Trent had people that became attached to him. They truly cared for him. Castle Ridge Care Facility in Minnesota and Lemay Avenue Health and Rehab in Fort Collins. They truly had a vested interest in him and loved him dearly. We are also thankful to Mindset Creative Community Connections for providing a meaningful and stimulating program he could attend during the day. The relationships he developed were priceless to him and to us as his family. A special thank you to all the people who are making a long trip to come help us celebrate Trent's life.
