Thomas A. Miller, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2009 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Tom was born September 19, 1937 in Sundance, Wyoming and married Julieann Lacy in 1959. Tom is survived by Julieann of Fort Collins, Colorado, Doug and Kathy Miller of Snohomish, Washington, Jeff Miller and Tracy Weber of Fort Collins, Colorado and by his grandchildren Jackson, Shane, Wyatt, and Bailey. Tom attended the University of Wyoming and Kansas State University before receiving his PhD in Economics from Iowa State University. Tom moved his family to Colorado in 1967 where he worked for the USDA and CSU as a professor of Economics until retiring in 1990. Tom and Julie built a house in Moran, Wyoming and enjoyed recreating and spending time with friends in both Moran and in Fort Collins. Tom especially loved spending time in the mountains skiing, climbing and fishing, and dedicated much of his life to introducing others, including his sons, to those sports. Tom was also active in his church in Jackson, Wyoming as a Deacon, Elder, and a trip leader for church-sponsored outdoor activities. A hike is scheduled for Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Hanging Canyon in Jackson, Wyoming and is sponsored by the Moran Fire Department. A memorial will be held Saturday, October 3, 3:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Jackson Hole, 1251 S. Park Loop Rd., Jackson. There will be a hike in Tom's honor on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. to Amphitheater Lake in Jackson. A Celebration of Life honoring Tom will be held in Ft. Collins approximately 2 weeks after the services in Jackson.
