Tom McCarty will be very much missed by his family and friends. He was a dependable and hard worker. He worked at the US Postal Service for nearly 36 years (1973-2008) first as a Letter Carrier and then as a Postal Supervisor. He was a walking map of the City of Denver.
When he retired from the Post Office, he continued his part-time job at Argus ushering for Pepsi Center Sporting Events and Concerts. Tom did not know a stranger—he enjoyed talking with his co-workers and got to know many of the season ticket holders. That community was a positive social outlet when he lost his wife, Joanne, to cancer in 2012.
Tom could be a man of few words when not in his work setting, but he always enjoyed talking sports—especially about: Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche, and the Denver Nuggets. He always made it a point to thank the cook after a good meal at family gatherings. He loved fishing ANYWHERE, but especially at Grand Lake/Shadow Mountain. He loved going on camper trips with his wife Joanne and grandkids. He loved Chevy trucks, riding Motorcycles and his dog Mickey. He most loved and was proud of his kids and grandkids.
