Theresa Martin Cook, 60, went to be with Jesus on June 10, 2016. She was born to Paul and Dorothy Hahn on August 4th, 1955 in Syracuse, New York. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, three siblings and their families, and many loving and close cousins. Her and her siblings, Carolyn, Paul Jr., and Cathy, went to Catholic schools while growing up in Fayetteville, New York with Theresa graduating from Bishop Grimes High School, East Syracuse in 1973. After high school, she attended Albany State University of New York and LeMoyne College in Syracuse where she received a degree in Accounting. Throughout her adult life, she worked in accounting and as an IT supervisor for several years.
On July 6, 1979, Theresa surrendered her life to Jesus Christ and made Him Lord of her life. In the following years, she moved to Colorado and met Jon Cook in 1981. They were married on October 21, 1983 in Denver, Colorado. While residing in Lakewood, two beautiful daughters were born: Allison Martin in 1985, and Kimberly Nicole in 1987. During these years, Jon and Theresa ministered at two churches in the area. In 1991, they moved to Fort Collins where they ministered at First Assembly of God, now known as Timberline Church.
Theresa deeply loved Jesus and loved to study His Word. For many years, she taught in a girls' ministry called Missionettes. In recent years, she loved to teach inductive women's Bible studies. Being trained by Precept Ministries, this became the love of her life and she taught the transforming truth of the Bible. She was very creative and enjoyed artsy projects. She loved to travel, to work in her yard and garden, and she loved carpentry. She enjoyed the outdoors and taught her husband and daughters the fine art of camping.
A celebration of her life will be held at Timberline Church on Thursday, June 16 at 2:00 in the Main Auditorium. Light refreshments will be served afterwards.
