Dr. Ted Schwartz of Loveland died August 16, 2010 at Northshore Health and Rehab Facility in Loveland. He was 87 years old. Theodore W. Schwartz was born July 11, 1923 in Iowa City, Iowa, to the Reverend Benjamin F. and Wanda Eells Schwartz, the first of two children. He graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan College in 1944, served in the US Navy during World War II, and attended seminary at Boston University, graduating in 1947. He subsequently earned his Doctorate from Illiff School of Theology in Denver. His career in the Methodist ministry took him to numerous towns in Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin before retiring in 1969 to launch Pastoral Counseling Services in Chicago. He remained a certified psychologist to the end of his life. Ted moved to Ft. Collins in 1990, then Loveland the following year. He is survived by one daughter, Shebby Lee, of Rapid City, SD; three grandchildren, Avram M. Lee of Sioux Falls, SD, Murray J. Lee and Lorna Lee both of Rapid City; two great-granddaughters; one sister, Carol Loar of Kansas City, MO; one niece, one nephew and three cousins: Ralph Smith of Fort Collins, and Richard Smith and Roy Smith of Yuma, CO. A Private Memorial Service will be held.
