May 6, 1931 - Sept 16, 2007 Theodore Ted W. Hertz, 76, of Fort Collins, passed away Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, at Poudre Valley Hospital. Ted was born May 6, 1931, in Beulah, N.D., to Nick and Louise Schutz Hertz. He was raised in Beulah, N.D. Ted graduated from Beulah High School and attended Concordia College before entering the United States Air Force in 1951. On June 21, 1969, Ted married Audinne Dutt Hertz. Ted retired from the Air Force in 1972 after 21 years of service. Ted and Audinne lived in Bismarck, N.D., until 1978. Ted worked for Lutheran Brotherhood for a short time before beginning work with Combustion Engineering as an office manager, working in Colorado, Wyoming and North Dakota until 1993. After retirement, he worked for Builders Square and the Glove Wagon in Fort Collins. Ted and Audinne made their home in Fort Collins since 1982. He was active with Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church as past member of the church council and a member of the building and maintenance committee. Ted enjoyed being a member of the Tuesday Night Mixed Bowling League in Fort Collins and the Kiwanis Club. Ted will be remembered for his sense of humor and his enjoyment of camping, fishing, bowling, playing games, and spending time with family and friends. Ted's Little Prayer: "I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray, when in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep that in His mercy I be judged BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP!" Ted will be greatly missed by his wife, Audinne; his son, Mark and his wife Lyndsey; and granddaughters, Hannah and Sarah. We love you all the way to heaven, Grandpa! Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Louise Hertz; and his daughter, Candyce Hertz. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins. A celebration of Ted's life will begin at Wednesday, 11 a.m., with military honors by the Fort Collins All Veterans Honor Guard. A gathering of family and friends will take place after the service at Adriel Hills Clubhouse, 1900 Kedron Circle, Fort Collins, with lunch provided.
