Teresa Ann Foltin, 57, of Fort Collins, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026.
Born on December 31st, 1968 in Santa Ana, California to Arnold and Elizabeth Andersen. Teresa was a devout Catholic, loving wife, and devoted mother.
She attended La Reina Highschool in Thousand Oaks, California where she was an avid basketball player, a passion that kicked off a lifelong competitive streak. She lived a life defined by immense strength and dedication, fighting cancer for nearly ten years. To those who knew her well, she was affectionately known as a true viking: fierce, resilient, and utterly unwavering in her commitments.
Teresa earned a B.A. in English Literature and a M.S. in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University. She taught for several years in Colorado and was later the Director of Student Activities at an American university in Germany.
After returning home, she met her husband, Martin, at an event at Saint Joseph Catholic Parish. This was the beginning of a lifetime rooted deeply in their shared Catholic faith. Together, they built a busy, bustling household. Her deep love for children led her and Martin to international adoption, welcoming her two oldest sons into the family from abroad before completing their family with three more children. Teresa spent years masterfully homeschooling all five of their children, while also working as a professional development instructor; traveling the country to train and guide other educators in mathematics education.
Outside of her family and faith, Teresa loved gardening, was deeply involved in her community, and served as an active 4-H parent and leader where she loved helping young people learn, work hard, and develop essential life skills. She had a lifelong dream of one day owning a homestead with plenty of room for the people she loved, a huge garden, and lots of animals. Her love for gardening and the outdoors was matched only by her faith and her fierce devotion to the people she loved.
She is survived by her husband, Martin; and her children, Dominic, Nicholas, Chiara, Ian and Peter.
A Mass will be held for her burial on Tuesday, September 29th at John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland. Rite of Committal will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins.
