Teresa Christina Beene

Teresa (Terry) C. Beene passed away in Fort Collins on November 3, 2022. She was born in Girard, KS on June 26, 1938 to Essie and Charles Doherty. She grew up on a farm in Kansas with her 9 siblings.

Teresa is survived by her husband Tom Beene, children Charlotta (Charlie) Jones (Harold), Olivia Benboe (Keith), Yvonne Zeman (Michael) and Troy Clobes. Her grandchildren Niki Barbour (Rex), Mike Ward, Erin Burr Adair (Kevin), Cory Burr (Jesssalyn Dyer). Her great grandchildren Story Barbour, Quin Barbour, Maia Adair, Thorin Adair, Evynn Dyer, and Hayley Burr. Many nieces and nephews. Stepchildren Edgar Pontilo, Debbie Beene, Jennifer Beene, Jeffrey Beene and Tommy Beene (Cescelie). Step grandchildren Robert Beene, Amber Franceschi, Brian Malang, Natalia Hart, Monica Pontilo, Kassandra Pontilo, Micus Pontilo, Jonathan Palao, Matthew Paloa, Christian Beene, Griffin Beene and Hannah Beene. Step great grandchildren Naliyha Franceschi, Leilani Malang and Jaelyn Beene.

She was preceded in death by both parents and her nine siblings.

Along with enjoying time with her family, Terry enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, dancing, bowling and playing cards with friends. She made the best coconut cream and lemon merengue pies in the world.

Terry spent the majority of her life as homemaker. After all of her children were in school, she began working in various fabric stores and as a seamstress. She worked at the Gazette Telegraph newspaper in Colorado Springs in the Circulation Customer Service Department for many years. That is where she met her husband, Tom. Terry and Tom retired from the Gazette Telegraph. They enjoyed retirement in Colorado Springs, Canon City and finally settling in Fort Collins to be closer to grandchildren.
