Sylva M. Dickinson of Fort Collins went home to be with the Lord, our Saviour, a far better place on Thursday, April 16, 2009. Sylva was born to Fred and Elsie McPherson Groves in Bayfield, on January 17, 1921. She married Aaron Dickinson on July 4, 1942. Sylva and Aaron had a farm and dairy near Fort Collins. They were married almost 60 years, before Aaron's death in 2001. Sylva was very active at First Baptist Church and Windsor Baptist Church. Sylva became an LPN in 1972 and worked with Dr. William Abbey for 17 years. Sylva excelled in many various hobbies over the years, such as, sewing, knitting, crocheting, china painting, and scrapbooking. She is survived by three sons, Keith and wife, Sue of Durango, Robert and wife, Karen of Fort Collins, and Michael and wife, Roselle of Fort Collins. She is also survived by her sister, Connie Lampp of Florida. She delighted in her eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Sylva was preceded in death by her brother, James Groves; and sister, Evelyn Dwyer. A funeral service will be held, 10 a.m. Monday, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Pastor Leroy Grimm will officiate at the services. Those who desire may view Mrs. Dickinson at 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Contributions may be made to the Windsor Baptist Church Mission Fund in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
