Susan Marie Morford passed away Saturday, September 15, 2012. She was born April 17, 1956 in Rockford, Illinois to James L. Veitch and Lois A. Johnson Veitch. She attended elementary schools in Roscoe and Loves Park, Illinois. The family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1866. Susan attended schools in the Poudre R1 School District graduating from Fort Collins High School in 1974. She attended several continuing education classes at CSU. Susan was active in Girl Scouts from elementary through junior high school. She was a Thespian at Fort Collins High and enjoyed folk dancing. While working at a local restaurant, she met William Morford. They were married in Fort Collins in 1976. Their daughter, Jessie Andrèa, was born in 1979 and son, Jackson Bly, was born in 1981. The family moved to Central New York in 1987, where Susan managed the paint department of a hardware store for 10 years. Susan and the children returned to Fort Collins in 1997. She worked at Gulley Greenhouse for 13 ½ years. She was active in several Fort Collins Red Hat Society chapters, an enthusiastic gardener, loved all kinds of movies and live concerts. She was also a very loyal fan of the Colorado Eagles Hockey team. Susan is survived by her children, Jessie and Jackson; her mother, Lois Veitch; her brothers, Karl Penny Veitch, Thomas Veitch, and Robert Esther Veitch; and several nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her father, James L. Veitch. The family is grateful for the support of Pathways Hospice, Medical Center of the Rockies and Spring Creek Healthcare Center during her struggle with cancer. Memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524. There will be a celebration of Susan's life at Christ United Methodist Church, 301 East Drake Road, Fort Collins on Tuesday, September 25th at 2:00 p.m. Susan requested that everyone attending wear a hat of any color and style to her service.
