God needed a new angel in Heaven and so He recruited Susan Miller to cross over. Susan was 80 years young, born in Saint Joseph, Missouri to Walter and Betty Beilstein. Susan had many successful careers: hospital lab tech, substitute teacher, store manager, and store owner; Susan's final career was as a Registered Nurse at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins. She showed joy and great caring in everything she did. Her patients always came first, and nothing gave her more satisfaction than seeing a patient who was in terrible shape able to walk out of the hospital on their own steam.
Susan met John at Mizzou in Columbia, Missouri, where she earned a double degree in biology and chemistry. They fell in love and were married in 1968. John joined the army, went to flight school, and was assigned to an assault helicopter company in Vietnam. Susan took on sole parental responsibility of their new child, Christopher John. Even being with her mother and father, Susan had a challenging time with Chris missing his daddy until John was released from the military and they moved permanently to Colorado. John was contracted to work as an insurance agent and Susan began her many careers while supporting John in his insurance agency. John was promoted and the family was moved to Fort Collins, CO just in time to prepare for Elizabeth's timely arrival in July of 1973. Susan began her final career as a nurse when she reached age 50. She enrolled in the Front Range Community College's Nursing Program, graduated with honors, and was hired at Poudre Valley Hospital on the post-op surgical unit. She retired 17 years later.
Susan is predeceased by her mother and her father, and is survived by her son, Chris, and his wife, Stacey; her daughter, Beth, and her husband, Kirt; her husband, John; and, all of her grandkids whom she loved so much. Also, her brother the Rev. W. James Beilstein, and his wife, Mary. A Celebration of Life service will be held Sat 4/25/2026 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1200 S. Taft Hill Road.
