Susan Darlene Manz, age 66, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away on March 16, 2026, following a sudden illness. She was surrounded by the love of her friends and family in her final moments.
Susan was born on October 4, 1959, the daughter of Ken and Wilma Ash. As the daughter of an Air Force officer, Susan's early years were marked by adventure and change. Her family's travels took her across the globe, from the Philippines to Missouri, before they eventually settled in Colorado. It was here that she attended high school and built the foundation for the rest of her life.
Those who knew Susan will remember her most for her deep connection to nature and all living things. She found great peace in her garden. Whether she was tending to her plants or caring for animals, these passions were the cornerstone of her daily life. Susan was rarely found without a project in the dirt or a loyal animal companion by her side.
Susan's greatest legacy is her family. She is survived by her son, Blake, and her cherished grandson, Connor. She also leaves behind her siblings, Diana, Larry, Pam, and Steve, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ken and Wilma; her sister, Barbara; and her husbands, Steve and Jeff.
In keeping with Susan's spirit and her appreciation for the simple joys of life, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, you take a moment to step away from the busyness of the world and spend intentional time with the loved ones in your own life.
