Stephen George Snider, son of George and Jewell Snider, died July 23, 2005, at Columbine Hospice after a brief battle with brain cancer. Steve was born June 5, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa, and lived there for 50 years prior to moving to Fort Collins. While in Des Moines, he was an avid Drake University basketball fan and an active participant in bowling, Sheltered Workshop and attended Camp Sunnyside each summer for more than 25 years. In Fort Collins, Steve lived independently at DMA Plaza before moving to Walter's House in Loveland. He attended Foothills Gateway, rode with Front Range Exceptional Equestrians and camped at Rocky Mountain Village. He was preceded in death by his father. Steve is survived by his mother, Jewell Snider, sister Georgeann Lage and brother, Charlie Snider Tara Parr, all of Fort Collins; sister Rebecca Brown Hugh, of Muncie, Ind.; two nieces; two nephews; a great-niece; and many friends and relatives. We will all miss his great smile! In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Foothills Gateway or Hospice of Larimer County. A memorial service is pending, which will be held at Foothills Gateway.
