Stephen Kyle Arnold On May 28, 2009 we lost our beloved Stephen due to an undetected heart condition. His 17 years were far too short, but he touched so many during his life here on earth. He loved fun and he loved joy. He loved his friends, his family, and his Lord. His heart was tender and belonged to Jesus. We couldn't have asked for more. Stephen was born January 30, 1992 in Austin, Texas. He moved to Fort Collins in 1996 and attended Timnath and Zach elementary schools, Kinard Junior High School, and then Fossil Ridge High School where he was finishing his junior year. Stephen enjoyed formal and informal sports, participating in wrestling at Kinard and Fossil Ridge, and particularly had developed a fondness for playing basketball with friends. He loved snowboarding, something many of us couldn't keep up enough to watch as much as we would have liked. Stephen had been a Boy Scout in Fort Collins Troop 191 where he enjoyed numerous camps, campouts, and trips. Stephen had previously attended Meadowlark Church of Christ and Rocky Mountain Church of Christ in Fort Collins. He currently belonged to the Timberline Church where he was active in the Nexus youth group. The Nexus group was such a large part of his life and his circle of friends, as were the kids and teachers at Fossil Ridge. We hope Stephen touched all of his friends as he was touched by them. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh. We can all carry that joy from him. Survivors include his parents Ron and Deena Arnold, a sister, Megan Arnold all of Ft. Collins; grandparents, Odell and Mildred Arnold of Stratford, Texas, and Tom and Barbara Mason of Friona, Texas, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially his close friend and cousin, Jacob Ross. A Candlelight Vigil will be held Sunday, 7:00 p.m. in the East Auditorium at Timberline Church, 2908 Timberline Rd. A Funeral Service will follow on Monday, 3:00 p.m. in the South Auditorium at Timberline Church. Those who desire may view Stephen, Sunday, 12 – 5 p.m., Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Contributions may be made to the Mountain States Children's Home, in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Ft. Collins, CO 80524. Stephen is at home in heaven now, happy and at peace, smiling down on us all. We love him and miss him so much. From one of Stephen's own poems:
"Beauty of This Magnitude Will be Etched in My Memory Forever"
