Sid Batty

Sid Batty closed his eyes for eternity Wednesday, January 29th, 2014. He was born March 24, 1944 to Phillip and Inez Batty. He is survived by his wife, Betty Smith; two step-daughters, Becky Mark Muth, and Sandy Kenny Brown; step-son, Casey Mindy Smith; step grandchildren, Charity Tim Caryl and Blair Petersen; great step grandchildren, Trevor, Ryan, Becca, and the twins, Emily and Paige; his sister, Dena Bob Rathbun; nieces, Shelly, Vicki, Pam, Barbara, and their mother, Lou Batty. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Halagene; brother, Edward Batty, and step grandson, Taylor Petersen. Sid loved Betty, his Harley, his little red car and football, at times, maybe not in that particular order. He loved getting together with his lifelong friends, hot rods and drinking Bud lite and the occasional Jim Beam. He was a long time driver for local companies, most recently, Hersh Trucking of which he retired from. Sid lived his life in Fort Collins, and made a lifetime of compadres of which he would thank everyone of them for sharing his life's' highs and lows. He will be missed by all. A celebration of Sid's life will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the American Legion Hall on Highway 287 in LaPorte, Colorado at 2:00 p.m.
