Shirley L. Rostek, 82, of Fort Collins lived a full life and passed May 26, 2008, at a local nursing home. She was born Aug. 17, 1925, in Parkerton, Wyo., to Verner F. and Ethel Seubert Schnepf. She was raised in Fort Collins and graduated from Fort Collins High School, attended Barnes Business College in Denver and worked in Seattle, Wash., as a riveter during World War II. During her marriage to John Rostek, she was bookkeeper for Rostek Construction and Lamplighter Motels Inc. Shirley retired in 1990 from Colorado State University purchasing department. She loved to sew, quilt and embroider, always giving her labors of love to others. She also enjoyed gardening, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and family functions. Preceding Shirley in death are her parents; and brother, Donald Schnepf. Shirley's family includes her sister, Darlene Buckley of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; brother, Gilbert Schnepf of Casper, Wyo.; daughters, Sharon Ross and Cathy Sannes; sons-in-law, Rollin and Marv; grandchildren, Brian Curtis, Kiley Townsend and husband Matt, Brady Bishopp and wife Nicole; great-grandchildren, Ian, Aaron, Tayler, Cole and Lexi. She was deeply loved by her family and friends. Her generosity was felt by many throughout the community and through her service projects for her sorority.
