S. Michelle Jones, age 66 of Fort Collins, passed away September 3, 2025.
Michelle was born June 9, 1959, to Shirley Mellies and James Swanson in Rigby, Idaho.
Michelle's father, James, passed away on September 7, 1962. Shirley then remarried Kenneth Kissell on January 26, 1963.
In 1967, the family moved to Vanderhoof, British Columbia, Canada, and then returned to the US in 1971, relocating to Fort Collins, CO.
Michelle attended Moore Elementary, Blevins Junior High, and Rocky Mountain High School. During her sophomore year, she met Tod Jones. They soon became pregnant and got married shortly thereafter.
Michelle attended Cheeks Beauty Academy in the early 1990s.
Survivors include her daughter Natashia "Tasha" Jones and her husband Justin Knapp of Fort Collins, Colorado; her son Jason Jones of Fort Collins, Colorado; her grandson Benny "Nathan" Jones of Fort Collins, Colorado; her mother Shirley Kissell of Cheyenne, Wyoming; her three sisters Vickie Sutton (Ron Sutton) of Carpenter, Wyoming, Cindy Swanson of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Kyla Warren (Lonnie Warren) of Carpenter, Wyoming; her two brothers Kenny Kissell (Kelly Kissell) of Laporte, Colorado and Kevin Kissell of Fort Collins, Colorado; as well as numerous nieces nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nephews.
Preceding Michelle in death are her father, James Swanson; her stepfather, Kenneth Kissell; her husband, Tod Jones; and her son, Justin Jones.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Details to come.
