Shirley Ann Froseth of Fort Collins died on January 14, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Dell Rapids, South Dakota on November 15, 1929 to Julius and Doris Kontz. She shared her talents as a young devoted teacher in the Dell Rapids rural school system. Shirley was married to Willard Froseth in Dell Rapids on June 21, 1950. They later moved to Omaha to raise their growing family. In 1968 they moved to Lakewood, Colorado where Shirley volunteered for Girl Scouts of America, was an active member of her church and developed her love for the Colorado mountains. In 1994 Shirley and Willard moved to Fort Collins where she was an active member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seaton Parish. Shirley was devoted to her family and friends and spent her life sharing her incredibly bright spirit and strong faith.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Willard; her children, Steve Debra Froseth, Bruce Sue Froseth, Susan Froseth, Cynthia Duane McGlauflin, and Cheryl Jeff Shaw; sister, Janice Bruening, and seven grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. The rosary will follow at 5 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. Private Interment Service will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
