Shirley Ann Butler, 79, of Fort Collins, passed away peacefully at Poudre Valley Hospital, Saturday April 19, 2014. Shirley was born in Humboldt, Iowa on March 4, 1935. She first met Dallas Butler in the fifth grade later to be married on December 19, 1954. Before she was married and still in school she sang in the Lutheran Choir. She also was in the Miss Iowa Beauty Pageant. Shirley worked most of her life as the Secretary for Public Schools in California and Virginia while Dallas was active in the United States Air Force. Dallas retired from the military and they moved to Daytona Beach, Florida in 2001. Shirley was active in the American Legion Auxiliary. In addition to Dallas, Shirley is survived by her, three daughters, Kim, Pam, and Angela as well as five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Shirley's strong will, beauty, and company will truly be missed by all who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Ft. Collins, CO 80524.
